Mobile Performance Monitoring

Overview

Mobile applications have unique performance challenges. I worked with product and SDK teams to improve iOS and Android support on the Sentry platform.

The Problem

Mobile developers faced different challenges than web developers—app startup time, crash rates, and ANRs (Application Not Responding) are critical metrics that weren't well supported. The existing Sentry interface was designed primarily for web applications.

The Solution

I designed mobile-specific views that surfaced the metrics mobile developers care about most. This included app health dashboards showing crash-free sessions, startup time trends, and device-specific breakdowns. I worked closely with the SDK team to ensure we were capturing the right data to power these experiences.

Results

• Enabled customers to track application health and crash rates in production environments
• Improved iOS and Android support across the platform
• Created mobile-specific dashboards and metrics views
